Pottery Barn Vintage Inspiration for a Storage Issue

I had some DVDs and photos that were looking a bit messy on the table and shelf by the TV.

And I was trying to think of a way to organize these items a little bit and yet keep these items handy and in some kind of style.

While browsing Pottery Barn, I spotted an old pepsi soda crate which was being used to house some magazines and books. I was kind of liking that idea for my videos, but they wanted a wopping 24.00 for one crate.  Pottery barn crate-->

I was trying to find one around the local thrift and antique shops but you know when your looking for something it doesn't always materialize.

I happened  to mention it to a friend of my husband's and sure enough a couple of days later he arrived with an old Coca Cola soda crate from his dad's basement for me to enjoy!

So now hurray! I had my storage unit for my videos and pics !!
And they  fit so nicely in there, I may have to search for more.

And the clutter on the table is safely stacked

And the table is happy again.

Now I just have to decide where I want to keep it.
Because I like it everywhere.

Once again Pottery barn inspires!

  1. What a great idea! I have three soda crates sitting in the garage, couldn't pass them up at yard sales but just didn't know what to do with them.:o)

  3. A great idea and you did very well on making them into something very useful. You can find them around, but they are pricey.

  8. This is so weird. I've been looking for a crate like this to store my craft paints in. You are a lucky girl. I won't break down and buy the Pottery Barn crates. I'll be patient and see if I can snag one somewhere for less! Great idea for storage.

  11. Great job. I had a few I gave to my Daughter, she uses them for organization in her classroom. I used to use them for spices storage in my kitchen.
